Meet Romega Digital: Intern Ashley Kennedy

Ashley is a recent high school grad and is joining us as an intern this summer. She has a great eye for design (she’s attending the Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall) and takes on every challenge we throw her direction. Ashley also has a hearing disability, but she doesn’t let that get in her way. Come August, she’s starting college as a photography and graphic design major, so for the rest of the season, she’ll be exercising those skills with Romega (and teaching us some sign language along the way!)

Keep an eye on our website, we’ll be sharing some of her projects soon. For now, join us in welcoming Ashley to the team and get to know her!

Where are you based out of?

Rome, GA

Tell us about your family (spouse, kids, etc.)

I grew up with a deaf brother, Dalton, with a single mother and my grandparents in Brooklet, few miles away from Statesboro. We moved to Rome when my mom got hired at my school, Georgia School for the Deaf (GSD). Dalton is attending Gallaudet University in Fall of 2019 in Washington, D.C.

Describe yourself in three words.

Passionate, driven, reliable

Do you have any pets? If so, tell us about them!

I have two dogs and three cats. Last year, my family and I rescued a mixed black Labrador, Daisy, at four months old. About a month ago, we adopted a beagle, Blossom, at 9 weeks old. I found my stray orange tabby cat, Pumpkin, behind my house when I was a 7th grader. Around that time, a cat we had at the time gave birth to another orange tabby cat, Carrot, who we still have right now. Lastly, my mom and her boyfriend, Anthony, went to Pocket Recreation Area and they saw this hungry, sick kitty then decided to bring her home. They named her after the park, Pocket.

Here’s a picture of myself and Daisy.
