About the Client and Our Partner

Spire is a new ministry platform that focuses on building a community through events, resources, and mentoring. This includes Christ-centric podcasts, leadership development or team building tools, staffing resources, and more. One major component is the Spire Conference, which kicks off in 2019. This conference is a shift from the NACC (North American Christian Convention) that has taken place annually for the past 90 years. The new website had to have a firm launch date as the team was announcing its inception during the 2018 NACC.

Prodonos is a consulting company that Spire brought on during the platform’s inception. They help nonprofits realize their goals through marketing and design efforts. Though they built a beautiful and effective branding and marketing strategy, Prodonos had a long list of other items they wanted to accomplish. So, they called Romega to help make that vision a reality.

The Process

After deciding that WordPress was the best platform for their project, we found plugins to accomplish their goals. To control membership, we used Ultimate Member so that members could easily sign up, navigate their profiles, and view their account history.

Using the popular WordPress e-commerce plugin WooCommerce, we built a web store so Spire can sell both physical and virtual/downloadable goods. Integrating with Bloomerang, we set up a way for users to donate to Spire directly from the Spire website.

In the future, Spire staff want to provide events like webinars and meetups to the site. They also want to give members the opportunity to RSVP to or purchase tickets to various events. To accomplish this and have it ready when Spire rolls out these features, we set up and customized an event management plugin.

Another planned feature that we built is a job board that will allow registered members who are looking for ministry professionals to post a job opening online. Members looking for a job can upload a resume and apply for a job right from their Spire dashboard.

Since the site’s initial launch, we have worked with Prodonos to launch new sections of the site, including a popular blog that has lots of engagement with Spire members. The newest feature is an Emergency Response section, where churches can come together to help one another in times of need.
