The Community Foundation for Greater Rome assists donors in becoming strong, strategic philanthropists through grants and charitable funds. They came to Romega because they needed a website to better help them reach potential donors and nonprofit organizations.

Romega Digital worked with CFFGR staff to build a new site that clearly communicates the group’s mission. It provides information for individuals wishing to start their own charitable funds and gives nonprofits access to materials about grants. Nonprofits also can submit their information to be included in the site’s list of nonprofit profiles.

The process

The Foundation previously had a website with the basics about the organization. But it could be hard to find detailed information about how to start a fund or apply for a grant. The first step for Romega staff was to sit down with CFFGR leadership to devise a plan for how to organize the site’s content.

We condensed information that was scattered throughout multiple web pages and PDFs. This made it easier to understand how the Foundation’s tax-advantaged giving program works. We also suggested that the Foundation spotlight the recipients of its Community Grants, and provide detailed information for nonprofits about how to apply.

After laying out the content map, we started work on a flexible design that could highlight different information as the Foundation moved through its yearly grant cycle. We added a spotlight for Foundation news articles, and built a nonprofit profile list. CFFGR wanted the site to be inviting, with eye-catching photos and easy-to-navigate pages.

The outcome

“We’re so pleased our website can now serve as a place for donors to learn about how to give strategically through the Foundation. Romega Digital helped us clarify our message so we can reach more donors and nonprofits, and continue to grow our impact in Rome and Floyd County.”

Joel Snider, Executive Director, Community Foundation for Greater Rome
